POUND® is a full-body drumming workout that uniquely combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements using lightly weighted exercise drumsticks (Ripstix®). Created by Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Peerenboom, music enthusiasts, drummers, and fitness experts, POUND® was designed to transform drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. POUND® is accessible to all fitness levels. The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.

Amanda’s Bio:

Amanda McVey is POUND’s Director of Education and Training. Amanda has a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from York University in Toronto, Canada. Amanda’s professional experience includes Corporate Governance, Corporate Wellness, and an extensive history in education, fitness and the performing arts. Amanda has taught at large fitness events for Nike, Women’s Health magazine, Macy’s, Nieman Marcus, Oxygen Network, and lululemon. She has presented at multiple conferences and conventions across the United States, Canada and in Europe. Amanda has appeared on television shows including TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress, MTV’s My Super Sweet 16, The Shopping Channel in Canada, multiple features on FOX, ABC, and King5 networks, as well as television segments in Italy for POUND: Rock Hard, a format exclusive to Madonna’s Hard Candy Fitness. Amanda appears in the POUND Rockout Results System DVDs, a home transformation program sold worldwide. Amanda has travelled as far as China to perform and has taught/trained fitness clients from coast- to-coast in the United States.

Credentials: ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, EBFA Certified Barefoot Training Specialist, POUND Rockout. Workout. Master Pro, Red Cross CPR/AED.
